Michael Kearney started studying for an Associate of Science degree at Santa Rosa Junior College, California, USA, in September 1990 at the age of 6 years 7 months.
He became the youngest graduate in June 1994, at the age of 10 years 4 months, when he obtained his BA in anthropology from the University of South Alabama. In January 1996 he began classes at Middle Tennessee State University, was admitted to the chemisty programme in June 1996 and received his Master of Science degree in biochemistry on August 9, 1998, at the age of 14 years and 8 months. Kearney graduated with a grade point average of A-minus.
