Transparent Smartphone Prototype Gets Demonstrated on Video:

Here's a first hands-on look at the transparent smartphone prototype by Taiwan-based Polytron Technologies. It utilizes Switchable Glass technology, which is basically a conductive OLED that uses liquid crystal molecules to display images.

As you can see, when the smartphone is in its off-state, the liquid crystal molecules basically form a white cloudy composition. However, once they're activated with an electric current (flows through transparent wires), they realign to form text, icons, or other imagery.
